360 VR: LG's Virtual Reality Headset For Pre-order At A Disappointing Price

The LG 360 RVs, reality helmet of the Korean manufacturer, has just made its appearance on the website for pre-orders. It displays it at a price of 279 euros, which is clearly too high. We had indeed made its presence at MWC and the helmet was highly disappointed us.

LG 360 VR

At the MWC in March, LG unveiled alongside the new G5 , the 360 VR, a virtual reality helmet Family Friends of LG accessories that go with the new Korean giant smartphone. At the time, LG was not talkative on the details of the product and we do not know the essential: its price. The online sales site Boulanger just reference the VR helmet 360 to 279 euros . The product is not yet available since it is only possible to pre-order. However, shipments expected to begin as early as 10 April .

Two small screens

For 279 euros, the 360 VR features two screens, unlike the Samsung Gear VR which does not include screen and requires the slab of a Galaxy smartphone. However, it could have done LG screens, speaking of two small screens - about 2 inches - each with a definition of 960 x 720 pixels. Of meager numbers, compared to two 3.5-inch screens of the Oculus Rift CV1 each with a definition of 1200 x 1080 pixels. To operate, the LG 360 VR needs to be connected to an LG G5 via port USB Type-C .

Immersion flawed

During our quick grip on the MWC, Gael was disappointed by the experience of the 360 VR , especially because of the discomfort related to helmet use, but also because of its disappointing finishes (no foam cover plastic which stands, etc.) that allow the external light from entering the helmet, negating the feeling of immersion. It is hoped that LG has revised its copy from the MWC, although we emit doubts. It will, in any case, wait until the first returns to pounce on this virtual reality helmet.
